45th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service - 29th July 2009

APTS celebrated its 45th Anniversary on the 29th of July, 2009 with a simple thanksgiving service at the Hurst Chapel attended by members of the APTS community and some guests.

The whole service was webcast live. APTS alumni and friends who watched the webcast on the internet gave feedback. Although the transmission was not perfect, they were thrilled to be able to witness the event.

The service began with a time praise and worship led by Rev. Jun Kim, the faculty in training from Korea. The worship was vibrant and enthusiastic, characteristic of Pentecostal worship. The praise and worship time was followed by greetings from the Student Council President, Craig Lester and the Academic Dean, Dr. Paul Lewis.

APTS President Rev. Yee Tham Wan then gave a brief message, where he also outlined the "2014 Jubilee Vision." 2014 will be a significant year for APTS and the Assemblies of God as a whole. It will be the Jubilee year for APTS and the Centennial year for the Assemblies of God. Moving towards that significant year, President APTS challenged the community to reach the following goals by 2014: (1) 200 student enrolment; (2) 13 fulltime lecturers with terminal degrees; (3) a prayer mountain on campus; (4) DEBT-FREE!

After the message, the community spent time praying for each other at the altar. Following the time of prayer, the community sang "Happy Birthday" to APTS and the Administrative Committee joined hands in cutting a special anniversary cake. After the service, the community fellowshipped over coffee, buns and "lumpiah" (Filipino spring-roll) at the new Academic Research Center's (ARC) Student Community Center.

We welcome you to browse APTS' E-Learning Site but we are NOT offering courses on-line yet. However, we are definitely moving in that direction. Meanwhile, most of our faculty on campus use Moodle as a content delivery program to facilitate and supplement their class activities.
