Position: Professor Teaching Areas: Mission PhD in Local Theology and Indigenous Appropriation of Christian Faith, Middlesex University (London, UK)/Oxford Centre for Mission Studies (Oxford, U.K.). MDiv, Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, CA, USA). B.A. Sociology, King’s College (Edmonton, Canada) Ministerial Background David Gyeong teaches Mission studies and local appropriation of Christianity and serves as a member of the Academic Affair Committee. Before joining the faculty at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary, David Gyeong served in mission with a First Nation people in Northwest Canada. He was ordained for ministry at a General Assembly of Korean Presbyterian Church in America (KPCA), Toronto, Canada (1993) and taught at Northwest Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Areas of Research Interest, Writings and Teachings David Gyeong’s doctoral research focused on a Local Christianity by a cultural appropriation of the Nuu-Chah-Nulth, entitled, Rethinking Christianity in Northwest Canada: Perspectives from the Nuu-Chah-Nulth. He authored books, including Indian Residential School and Christian Mission: A Nuu-Chah-Nulth Study and Origin Myth and Indigenous Appropriation of Christianity: A Nuu-Chah-Nulth Study. Family and Personal Interests David Gyeong and his wife currently live in Seattle, WA, USA, preparing to join the physical campus in Baguio, the Philippines, soon. Their two adult children live in Canada and USA.
